Shameless
Is this anime low key a hentai?
A hentai is a show or series designed to fulfill sexual fantasies and or desires. Yes this series has more mature substance in it, but doesn't feel like its intended to be the main focus point. Considering the topics and subject matter in this series, it only makes sense that there is going to be uncomfortable and or more mature content. It's refreshing to see a show that isn't just all fan service, childish pranks and or dirty jokes.
My statement was a joke itself. I know this anime isn't a hentai, though I am tired of the fanservices that shamelessly plague anime now days. I can't even recommend Skeleton Knight in Another World because it starts off with someone almost being raped. Same with Goblin Slayer. Sure, I love adult situations because I don't want everything to be kiddy and about friendship, but sometimes it's a little to much.
Bad things happen in real life and to ignore those bad things is to ignore the victims of those events. If it's uncomfortable and make people think "that's terrible", than maybe it can help someone in the future. Those events are not enjoyable and are not portrayed in a good light. The topic of Rape is always glossed over in many countries and isn't covered in school. If only one person stops and thinks before they act, if only one person doesn't have to suffer than I feel that seeing "uncomfortable" situations in an anime is well worth it. After all an anime is a work of fiction and no one is actually getting hurt. I would rather someone learn how bad the act of rape is from an animated series than to experience something like that IRL.
I am not saying to ignore any victims of rape. I am saying that the very first episode of the anime shouldn't be a rape scene right off the bat.
Yeah I agree it's more shock value and a bit shameless to use it as an early plot mechanic.
Yes of course, I am not even suggesting anyone is ignoring victims of any kind of violent crimes. I am saying that to ignore the fact that terrible things happen, by not including them into works of fiction, is just as bad as ignoring victims of such crimes... NOT saying anyone is actually ignoring those victims. I am also sorry that those horrible realities and or situations don't align with when you, when you would prefer to see them. If you were the one directed in the action, what would be your preferred timeline for those harsh realities to occur? Of course it would be preferred that terrible things never happened to people, but reality is reality, even in a work of fiction, certain realities have their place. Of course you always have the option of just not watching any show or series that portrays those harsh realities. There are tons of series that only focus on the lighter sides of life, and don't address or depict any such horrible things.
Nah!
that's what i was thinking
